Age Ain't Nothing But A Number.......(Or Is It ??)
I believe Aaliyah said it best in her song...but I am starting to question this shit. I have a friend (who shall remain nameless in this post, she knows who she is) that refuses to tell me how old she is, she used the adage of "If you really like someone what difference does age make".... that is my sentiment exactly !! What difference does it make !?! I know this is like arguing with a stop sign...especially since we are saying the same thing (what difference does it make). I get agitated when I ask (not that frequently) and she says "why do you need to know"...and I know she gets pissed when I ask (not frequently..but frequent enough to piss somebody off).
She threw me some random # just to shut me up...and I did shut up, but just because I felt insulted.
My question for you all is should I just drop it because it is some trivial bullshit.....or should I press it 'cause what kind of relationship (friendship or otherwise) can be built if we cant share trivial shit ??
If you are liked by me (friendship or otherwise) I dont give a f**k if you are blind,cripple, and crazy (as long as you are fine)(just joking...I am not quite that shallow)...the worth I place on your age would equal a glass of baboon piss (nothing to me...somebody might actually drink that shit !!!)
But give me your feedback....what would ya'll do.

I ain't fucken with no one younger than me...age is just a number but in the bigger picture of things...I want to be able to reminisce about shit that we grew up with...ie. songs, news-worthy events, styles.
Granted, my muse the remainder of the summer is only 25 (which is 11 years younger than me)...but that's only about something other than a relationship, it's about his 6 figure income and his propensity to hand it over with ease.
If ol' girl can't tell you something as small as her age...just seems mighty childish. If she's older then that's not a good look and if she's younger than her refusal is just expected. Also, your talking "trivial"...exactly which one of you is designated to say what is or is not trivial?
What is your reason for wanting to know her age? Has it now gotten to the point that you need to know only because she won't tell you? Either way, it's a bad way to start a "relationship"...unless that's not what's going on...if your just fucken...then who the hell cares about age as long as she's 18.
I can co-sign for blah's comments. She is one of my closest friends, but won't give a brother the time of day because I'm 8 years younger than her. (Still love you though, girl).
Me, on the other hand, don't think age is a problem as long as they're legal. My preference has been older women, but I can go either way as long as they are mature (not that I'm lookin' for 21 year olds or anything like that)

I am finally understanding that I believe I would enjoy a relationship with a younger man. I haven't even been able to really dig a man my age or older in a long while. I can't believe that I could be the older woman but, I am cool with the concept. I am all about getting me a young man that ain't all hung up on my profession, or how much money I am making etc, etc. I have found younger men to be more supportive of me without feeling threaten to their ego or some dumb crap...

I came across this post quite randomly, while trying to determine the length of time meant when someone says "in a donkey's age", and felt I absolutely had to comment.
In my experience, women love it when they see a guy squirm over some topic, especially when they are the cause of the said topic.
In short, it's probably her playing a little game with your brain.
If you ask me, age doesn't matter too much unless there's an obvious (wide) age gap and you're thinking about a sexual relationship [see age of consent and the rumor mill (gold-digger, cradle-robber, etc)]
Oh, and I guess I should mention that google.com does in fact report that this blog as a match when searching for "How long is a donkey's age?" (without the quotations).
